Sam's Club

I just want to share an experience at Sam's Optical Dothan. Rarely leave reviews but had to this time. Went to their optical department with a pair of frames I bought. I always do that and just buy lenses. After presenting those and finding out the cost for no line bifocals, transition option, insurance and a higher quality lense I was ready. When I left I didn't leave my frames. Dianne Bighems talked to me about a super deal Sam's has. She patiently went over several benefits I knew nothing about. When I left I had two pairs of higher quality Ray Ban frames. One everyday wear still with transition and all the other options I mentioned and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses for driving with the sun in your eyes with all the options of the everyday glasses. The costs ? Both pairs a little more than the one pair using my frames. I had to mention Dianne's help. A true professional that did not force my decision, only politely and professionally enabled me to make a decision I could not walk away from. Thank you Sam's for a great hire.

I love the scan & go because you don't have to go thru the check out line. It's so much easier. The other day when my son & I was there we did get a little aggravated with one of the workers there because I asked her twice about where something was and she didn't even acknowledge me so my son asked her twice and she didn't acknowledge him either. She had on a Sam's vest & then we noticed she had ear buds in her ears listening to music so we had to find someone else to help us. I don't think the ear buds should be allowed while working.

First the bad. The parking lot! So much traffic with people coming in and out while customers also trying to get to the gas station and Chick-fil-A. The parking stalls themselves are adequate width but the driving aisles just seem to be too close together. It's harder to park a car when the lot is full. Not enough room to swing wide when there is traffic in the other direction and people pushing their carts as well as the room taken up by people loading their cars. I think Sam's has outgrown this space. Now for the good. I found everything I needed. The aisles are easy to move around it. Cornering the aisles can be challenging, especially on sample days. The store is always clean and well organized. Pricing is clear. I love using my Sam's app because I can scan my items as I put them in my cart and skip the check out lines.

I recommend the pre made chicken pot pie, it's delicious and plenty leftovers. As well as these Members mark brand Oatful Bites are so freaking good. We love Sam's to get certain things in bulk. Disappointing that the price for membership went up. Love that the café is still a good cheap eat after shopping. Overall love Sam's.

Clean facility, spacious, and well stocked. Large selection. Helpful staff. Check out process is usually quick. The fuel station is set up for low confusion and congestion. If they have lines, they move quickly. Vehicles move one way.
